Thursday, 12 March 7-8pm Kathryn Smith - "Healing Heroes Program"
Kathryn Smith is a professional K9 trainer, a member of both V.E.T. Service Dogs, NFP and Mending Spirits Animal Rescue. She is the K9 handler for the Therapy Team with the St. Paul Police Department with Sgt. Fuzz. Kathryn lovingly continues to welcome rescued dogs into her care and custom trains them to become a service dog for a Veteran in need. Over the past year, Mending Spirits Animal Rescue has worked with another 501(c)3 non-profit organization recognized as V.E.T. Service Dogs, NFP. This organization provides service dogs for veterans with post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and military sexual trauma, the best quality service dogs trained for their needs.
Join us for our first hosted service event in honor of Veterans.
On Thursday March 26, stop by St. Peter's - Edina from 1pm-7pm to donate an hour of your time and blood. We will be asking for volunteers to greet & serve refreshments.
On March 10, the Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans hosted an event to meet Rotary International Director, Stephanie Urchick and create feminine hygiene kits for girls in countries where girls are known to start skipping school after they start their menstrual cycle. Thanks to those who participated - and for Tom Gump for lining up the event.
