The Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans

Chartered October, 2019

NEXT MEETING - August 13, 2020, 7 pm via Zoom

Our program for our 13 August Zoom meeting will be presentation from Welcome Home Veterans based in Hopkins.  We anticipate a future service project between our organizations.

Welcome Home Veterans provides home starter kits to homeless veterans moving into permanent housing. The kit contains the basic items for the kitchen, bedroom and bath including pots/pans, dishes, microwaves, bedding, air beds, bath towels, cleaning supplies, groceries and more. Their team of volunteers deliver to the entire state of Minnesota although the vast majority of deliveries are here in the greater Minneapolis/St Paul area. Welcome Home Veterans helps homeless veterans transform an empty apartment into a home.  Learn more.

By the Numbers
How big is the problem of veteran homelessness?
  • There are 19.3 million veterans in the United States
  • As many as 10% of homeless adults are veterans
  • 3.8 million veterans have a service-related disability
  • 70% of veterans served by the VA have dealt with chronic homelessness and unemployment
Join us HERE for our Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans virtual meeting, Thursday, 13 August, 7-8pm.

BLOOD DRIVE

Every month, the Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans seeks to do a monthly service and/or social event.  July 23, we held our second COVID blood drive and partnered with St. Peter's - Edina & Choice Bank for another successful event.

We had a goal of 60 donors.  With your help we had 67 donors and we collected 64 life saving units of blood.   Thanks to our volunteers and donors!

The tournament registration website is up at https://ets.cbo.io. Just click on the “login/Register” tab and lets make this happen!

If a company or individual is registering all their players, they will want to have each player’s name, email address and cell number (this is needed for online silent auction bidding).
The silent auction is collecting items now. We will not open that part of the site until 10 days prior to the event. All the auction bidding will be online to aid in social distancing.
Please let me know if you have any auction items you would like to donate.

We can accept checks should someone wish to register in the manner, but they will not be registered for the silent auction without registering using the URL. Any checks we receive should be made out to Every Third Saturday and sent or given to me for deposit. The check will service as your 501c3 receipt.  You will receive a receipt by registering and paying online as well.
